A little further afield (5 minutes by car) is the famous Monsal
Dale and the viaduct that once carried steam trains onwards to Buxton and Manchester. Bakewell (famous for its puddings) is
just 15 minutes by car and the plague village of Eyam is a mere 10 minutes away. World famous Chatsworth House and Estate
is a pleasant 15 minutes drive, an absolute 'must see' for visitors to the Peak Park.
Next door to the barn is the untouched Three Stags Heads pub,
completely original, unspoilt, tiny and with uncompromising owner - mind you don't sit in his chair!.
If this is not your cup of tea, there are plenty of other choices
in the area with the Pack Horse at Little Longstone, The Crispin and White Lion at Great Longstone, the Bull's Head
at Foolow and several more at Ashford in the Water in addition to the popular haunts at Monsal Head.
