ABOUT

Situated in the heart of the Peak District National Park, the large self catering Holiday Barn comfortably sleeps up to 24 guests, with 7 bedrooms over 2 floors including a king sized 4 poster bed. The barn is the perfect venue for large groups to stay together under one roof and is ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, leisure groups, stag or hen dos, and reunions. It's equally suited to accommodating corporate groups for training and team building events during the week or over a weekend. 

The barn is a great base for walking, climbing, cycling and caving, with numerous outdoor activities on its doorstep.

It is fully insulated with gas fired central heating throughout and a large multi fuel stove in the lounge, with plenty of drying space in the utility room for wet gear, wellies and walking boots.

Our prices are the same regardless of the season, so we are ideal for weekend, full or midweek breaks where you can enjoy our playroom, surrounding stunning countryside and local landmarks. 

 

 

ACCOMMODATION

LOUNGE

The spacious open plan lounge is separated from the dining room by glazed double doors, and features a large multi fuel log burner. It has plenty of comfy seating, a large TV, DVD player, music system, free Wifi and plenty of games. Complimentary logs, firewood and coal are supplied for your first day.

KITCHEN / DINING ROOM

The open plan kitchen/dining area has been carefully restored and still retains many of the barn's original features including beams and exposed stone. With large farmhouse tables, a breakfast bar and plenty of seating, the area easily caters for large groups.

The kitchen includes 2 electric ovens, large gas hob, microwave, 2 sinks, dishwasher, commercial fridge, freezer and plenty of pans, crockery, cutlery and glasses.

 

BEDROOMS

There are 7 bedrooms situated over 2 floors:

Bedroom 1 - king sized 4 poster (first floor)

Bedroom 2 - standard double (first floor)

Bedroom 5 - super king sized & 2 large bunks

There are 3 bathrooms situated over 2 floors:

Bathroom 1 - first floor: walk-in shower, toilet, bath and hand basin

Bathroom 3 - three walk-in showers with privacy areas, 2 hand basins and 2 enclosed toilets

Utility/Drying room - Washing machine, large sink and drying space f

PLAYROOM

 

New to the barn is the old cowshed, a large playroom in a separate building to the rear of the holiday accommodation barn.  It includes a pool table, darts, table tennis, comfy sofas, a sink and counter, fridge, freezer and toilets, as well as a pizza oven.  Two sets of bi-fold doors look out onto the surrounding lawn, providing lots of natural light.

WEDDINGS AT THE BARN

The Barn is an ideal venue for a variety of weddings, depending on your budget, timescale and theme.  We offer both high quality accommodation and a wedding barn for your special day. 

Measuring 22m x 12m, the wedding barn is large enough to accommodate up to 120 guests, and can also be made into a more intimate setting for smaller groups.

Your wedding includes exclusive use of the holiday accommodation barn, wedding barn, playroom, and lawns and the cottage.  Outdoor facilities include off road parking, covered terrace and BBQ area.

The emphasis is on DIY - we provide the space, the rest is up to you.

Weddings cost £7000 for 3 nights, which includes use of the newly renovated wedding barn, the hire of the holiday barn for up to 24 people, the playroom, toilets and outdoor spaces.

Additionally, a one bedroom cottage can be booked for £650.

                           CORPORATE / EDUCATIONAL GROUPS

 

The Barn is an excellent venue for corporate and educational groups, including residential courses, training workshops and team-building events.

There is a new 10msq playroom that can be used by guests at any time, complete with table tennis, pool table, darts, pizza oven, prep area, fridge, freezer and toilets.

 

Inside the holiday barn, the large open plan living area is an ideal space for informal seminars and meetings. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area can easily cater for large groups sitting together for meetings or dining.

Outdoor facilities include plenty of off road parking, lawns, BBQ and fire pit.

Although the barn can comfortably cater for up to 24 guests, during mid week periods we are delighted to accommodate smaller groups at competitive prices.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR GUESTS 

The Peak District is perfect for a relaxed catch up with friends and family. The Barn is large and sleeps up to 24 people; as such we have some important house rules. Please read them carefully and ensure that the rest of your group read them too, so that you are all fully informed of our expectations.  Thank you. 

  • We do not cater for rowdy house parties. The barn is ideal for low key celebrations and relaxed weekends. You may be asked to leave if you do not adhere to the house rules.  

  • Strictly no noise outside or external socialising after midnight.  We expect our neighbours not to be disturbed after this time.  

  • The hire of live bands, PA systems, and discos are not permitted without our prior consent. 

  • The hire of play equipment including inflatable bouncy castles and other large items, is not permitted.

  • It is essential that you confirm the exact number of guests that will be staying in the property - no additional guests are allowed at the venue without our prior permission. If additional guests are found staying in the property you all may be asked to leave. 

  • A Security Bond is charged at £500 and refunded after your stay.

  • If there is extra cleaning above and beyond our allocation for a normal clean, we have the right to retain an agreed fee for any work carried out for excessive cleaning and this will be at the owner's discretion. Please ensure that the cooker, BBQ and pizza oven are left clean, dirty dishes washed and put away and food shelves, fridges and freezers are cleared out. 

  • Please do not take any furniture, ornaments, furnishings, bedding, throws or towels outside, from the holiday barn.

  • Please ensure that any glassware, crockery, cutlery, kitchen equipment, and plastics, are returned to their place in the main holiday barn.

  • If you would like to decorate the inside of the property, please do so with appropriate adhesive which does not leave marks on the walls, glass or mirrors, or pulls off the paint when removed.

  • Your group must agree to behave in a considerate way to the people living near the property, and to respect their privacy and peace at all times.

  • Strictly no fireworks or Chinese Lanterns  as we have lots of livestock nearby. No open candles or tealights.

  • We understand that planning a stay is a big responsibility and if you are the person designated to book your holiday on behalf of a large group, we suggest that you forward this document on to all your guests attending so that everyone who attends fully understands the terms and conditions too.

PLEASE OPEN AND READ OUR FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT:

 

 

 

  • To secure a booking, a deposit of 30% is required and can be paid by bank transfer.  In the event of a booking being cancelled, the deposit will only be returnable if we are able to re-let the cancelled dates dates.  A security bond of £500 is also required and will be added to the final invoice (due 6 weeks prior to the date of booking) and returnable 7 days after departure, should there be no damages or extra cleaning costs.

  • Check-in is available from 4pm. Check-out time is midday.

  • Towels are not included, however bedding is included.

  • The barn is designed to comfortably cater for a maximum of 24 people.  Any group exceeding these numbers will result in the forfeiture of the bond.

  • Please do not bring any additional large-scale music equipment without our prior consent.  

  • Hire of bouncy castles and other outside play equipment is not permitted.  

  • Noise curfew is midnight, after which music and outside noise is not permitted, and activity is restricted to indoors.​

  • Please turn off lighting and heating when not needed, and when leaving the barn.

  • Do not leave the multifuel stoves or pizza oven unattended, use the fireguard, and remember to close the doors and check for any embers prior to leaving the house or going to bed.
